World champion Laura Massaro has set her sights on winning two medals at the forthcoming Commonwealth Games.
The 30-year-old world no.2 struck silver in the women’s doubles with Jenny Duncalf in Delhi four years ago and would dearly like to add to that in Glasgow.
However, writing in the Lancashire Telegraph, she says:
“I am not setting myself specific targets.
“I would love to come away with two medals, one in the singles and one in the doubles with Jenny, but I’m not saying what colour.
“I’m not mentioning the ‘G’ word because I don’t want to put myself under any extra pressure.
“So it will be a case of making sure I am sharp and rested, and enjoy the Commonwealth Games experience!”
Massaro is seeded second in the singles behind world no.1 Nicol David, but she and Duncalf, her room-mate in Glasgow, are favourites for the women’s doubles title.
